From Cognitive Services to Fabric AI functions
Do you remember Cognitive Services? It was also part of the Power BI offering with some built-in AI language capabilities (sentiment analysis, language detection, key phrase extraction). The services have now been discontinued from Power BI Desktop and Service. All of them has been moved to Fabric in the Data Science workload and rebranded as AI functions and services. In this full-demo session, I will introduce you to the new Fabric AI services. What has changed from Cognitive Services, what you need to know and how to make it work now in your workload. What is the link between Fabric AI and Azure AI services, touch points and differences. I will showcase how to create and run a notebook in Fabric for invoking the functions, to transform and enrich data into your pipeline. Whenever is possible, I will also show you how to bypass the need for a Fabric subscription using the available APIs from the correspondent Azure AI service, for example building a custom function directly into Power BI Desktop.
